5 euro flea market find turns out to be an incredible treasure

That much happiness is almost outrageous! This saleswoman wants to sell her cheap flea market find at Bares for Rares, then she learns the sensational truth: the object is an imperial treasure from Russia and counts one of the most expensive objects in show history!

Incredible stroke of luck: she only paid 5 euros for royal treasure

Saleswoman Sabine took care of this in the episode on July 21, 2021 the biggest stroke of luck in Cash for Rares history: Your flea market find is actually worth a fortune. When she reveals that she only paid 5 euros for her small silver bowl, expert Heide Rezepa-Zabel can only be amazed at how lucky she was. (Read everything about the expert here.) She shakes her head in disbelief, then begins her expertise.

Hard to believe, but true: the small silver bowl is a royal treasure from the Russian tsar’s court. It dates from 1763 and is therefore more than 260 years old. But it gets even better! The drinking vessel is an honorary gift from the world-famous Tsarina Catherine the Great (1729 – 1796) to an important military leader who had rendered outstanding service in the Seven Years’ War.

10,000-fold increase in value: Nobody would have expected this amount with cash for Rares

Heide Rezepa-Zabel is brimming with excitement because the object is an absolute rarity. The condition is “flawless” and Horst Lichter is also blown away: “This is a real museum piece.” Rezepa-Zabel reveals that such silver vessels can only be found in highly exclusive places today: “You can actually find a piece like this in the Moscow Kremlin.”

Because of this dream expertise, the seller wants 15,000 euros for her 5-euro flea market find. Horst Lichter appears shocked, but the expert even goes one step further: Because “For the extremely magnificent furnishings, I have to give a market price that is much higher: namely 40,000 to 60,000 euros.”

This is the silver bowl worth more than 10,000 times as muchlike they were paid for at the flea market.

Bidding war for the Russian tsar’s treasure: This price is impressive

The dealers are absolutely thrilled with the Russian tsar’s treasure. Everyone wants to win the silver treasure for themselves, which is why the first bid is unusually high at 5,000 euros. A real bidding war then breaks out.

In the end, art lover Daniel Meyer can get the silver drinking vessel for an incredible 29,000 euros. (Here you can find the most expensive objects at Cash for Rares.) Fans criticize online that the seller was taken far too cheaply, but she seems happy with her deal.
