The cast of “Scream 7” continues to grow. “Gen V” and “The Boys” star Asa Germann recently joined the ensemble. Now it has been announced that McKenna Grace has also joined the slasher sequel.
“Scream 7“It really wasn’t easy at first. First it was announced that the main actresses Melissa Barrera (“Abigail”) and Jenna Ortega (“Wednesday”), which the franchise in “Scream 5” and “Scream 6“said, will not return. As if that wasn’t enough, the director who was originally hired also pulled out Christopher Landon (“Happy Death Day”) from the project.
But with one of the series’ creators taking over the directorial helm, the film was finally put on track: “Scream 1, 2 & 4” writer Kevin Williamson will hold the creative reins 25 years after his first (and to date only) directorial effort “Kill Mrs. Tingle!” The story is still a big secret, but the cast is taking more and more shape.
A “Ghostbusters” star is also there!
Particularly pleasing for fans: original star Neve Campbell will return as Sidney Prescott after the franchise’s figurehead was missing in Part 6. Also “Friends” star Courtney Cox continues the “Scream” tradition and will once again star as reporter Gale Weathers. In addition to the well-known stars, there are also exciting new additions to the cast: Isabel May (“1883”), “Madame Web” star Celeste O’Connor and Asa Germannknown from “The Boys” spin-off “Gen V”.
But that’s not enough: The industry magazine Deadline now also announced Mckenna Grace for “Scream 7” – and despite her young age, the actress is already really familiar with scary characters. As the granddaughter of the legendary ghost hunter Dr. Egon Spengler in “Ghostbusters: Legacy(2021) and in “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire“ Followed ghosts and stepped into “Annabelle 3against a murderous doll.
While the US theatrical release of “Scream 7” has been set for February 27, 2026, the German release date is still pending. However, it can be assumed that the film will be released in this country in the immediate vicinity of its US debut.
