The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) told the media on August 26 that they have announced a 20-member preliminary squad for the one-off Test match against New Zealand to be held from September 9 to 13 in Greater Noida, India. This match will be the first bilateral Test match between Afghanistan and New Zealand, which the ACB is very excited about.

Chief selector gave a big statement

The team will arrive in India on August 28 and will participate in a week-long practice camp before the match. At the end of this camp, the final 15-member team will be selected, taking into account the performance and fitness of the players. Chief selector Ahmed Shah Sulemankhel said that the players will be closely monitored during the camp and those who perform well will get a place in the final team. He also said that some young players have performed well in domestic cricket and it is a matter of pride for them to get a chance for this Test match.

This player did not get a chance

However, the ACB did not give any information about the condition of star spinner Rashid Khan, who was ruled out of two matches due to a hamstring injury during the recent ‘Hundred’ tournament in England. Overall, this Test match between Afghanistan and New Zealand is important for both teams, and the Afghanistan team is preparing to take this opportunity with all seriousness.
