Paris Paralympics 2024: Indian players are performing brilliantly in Paris Paralympics 2024. Indian shooters have won four medals, including Avani Lekhara’s gold. On the other hand, India has also secured a medal in badminton. With five medals, India is currently at number 22 in the medal tally. There is every hope that India’s medals will increase in the future.
India has won five medals so far
India has won a total of 5 medals in the Paris Paralympics so far, out of which four medals have come from shooting. Avni Lekhara won the gold medal in 10m air rifle standing SH1. Apart from this, Mona Agarwal won the bronze medal in the same event. Preeti Pal won the bronze medal in the 100m T35 category, giving India its first track medal in the Paralympics. Rubina Francis won the bronze medal in the final of the women’s 10m air pistol SH1 event. Manish Narwal has won the silver medal in the men’s P1 10m air pistol SH1 in shooting.
One medal for India confirmed in badminton
India has also secured a medal in badminton at the Paris Paralympics. In the men’s singles SL4 category, Sukant Kadam topped Group B by defeating Thailand’s Teamarom Siripong 21-12, 21-12 and he managed to make it to the semi-finals along with compatriot Suhas Yathiraj. Now both these players will face each other in the semi-finals, due to which one player from India will reach the final and one medal for India will be confirmed.
China ranks first in medal tally
China is in first place in Paris Paralympics 2024. It has won a total of 40 medals so far. This includes 19 gold, 14 silver and 7 bronze medals. Great Britain is in second place. It has won 22 medals, including 9 gold. Brazil is in third place. They have won 18 medals, including 7 gold medals.
