Dadasaheb Phalke, who was considered the father of Indian cinema, was born on April 7 in a Brahmin family in Trimbakeshwar village in Nashik district. Dadasaheb Phalke’s full name was Dhundiraj Govind Phalke. According to the tradition of the family, they were taught Sanskrit and priest at home.

His interest in painting, drama, acting and magic increased. When his father, Daji Shastri, became a professor of Sanskrit at Elphinstone College, he got a chance after coming to Mumbai. Along with fine arts, they were particularly attracted to the art of cinematography.
